Innovative de Antonio yachts 2015 Collection

Barcelona-based de Antonio Yachts has built on the success of its innovative and visionary D23 (which we wrote about here) with four new yachts released for this year’s ‘Boot Düsseldorf’ Boat Show.

The new range consists of two new D23 models and two larger yachts, the D33 and D43. The whole 2015 collection follows the same modern and elegant design as the original D23 with simple lines and angular shapes creating a stunning boat that stands out from the crowd.

7_1All five yachts were designed by Barcelona-based Ubica, which was founded in 2006 by Marc de Antonio (yes, the very same) and Gloria Altimira. Ubica has a wide-ranging portfolio including interior, graphic, industrial and product design, as well as plenty of yacht design experience – in fact they also designed the de Antonio Yachts website!

Ambesk in Sant Iscle Ambesk de Vallalta built the original D23, which is located 50 km north along the coast of Catalonia. However de Antonio Yachts has just purchased its own 2,000m² shipyard in Barberá del Vallés, just 20km from their office in downtown Barcelona.

Having the shipyard so close “is a good opportunity to show our clients clearly the process and the steps that are made from the final design to the final construction of the boat,” says Joan De Antonio Altimira, in charge of Operations for de Antonio.

The two new D23 models are the D23 Tender and the D23 Cruiser. The D23 Tender, unsurprisingly, has been designed as a superyacht tender. It has a large V-shaped bench in the bow with a retractable and extendable table so the area can be used for transporting passengers, lounging around or even al-fresco dining.

There is a retractable hood which can be pulled out to completely cover the bow protecting passengers from bad weather and, if you’ve got celebs on board, the prying eyes of the paparazzi. In addition, the D23 Tender is equipped with side doors that allow for elegant and easy access and egress when approached alongside.

Sister ship, the D23 Cruiser, has been designed, as the name suggests, as a day cruiser. There is a twin cabin in the bow and also a sink, toilet, fridge and kitchenette. The D23 Cruiser is perfect for a day out or a weekend away.

Both models have the characteristic hidden outboard of the original D23 and a long list of options, which allows each owner to customize and adapt them to their needs.

Next up comes the D33 at 9.5 metres. The extra ten feet on the D33 means there is plenty of room both above and below decks. Above there is an ample sundeck and seating area, while down below space has been used to the max and there is accommodation for four with an owner’s suite in the bow and a small aft cabin with two single beds. There is even room for a full bathroom and kitchen.

A bit bigger still is the daddy of the range, the D43. At 13.3 metres, the D43 has more space again. Above decks there are two dinettes, one port and one starboard, which can be joined together creating a single space where up to 12 people can dine in comfort. There are also two large sunbeds aft with plenty of room for lounging. An optional carbon fibre sliding roof and a large optional aft swing gate mean the entire area of the cabin can be converted from outdoor to indoor at the flick of a couple of switches.

There are two configurations available belowdecks. As standard, the D43 comes with an owner’s en-suite cabin aft, a guest cabin forward and a saloon, galley and guest loo in between. The second configuration swaps out the galley and saloon and replaces them with a third double cabin, meaning there are six berths in this 13.3 metre Tardis.

The D43 comes with a Volvo Penta D6-370 Diesel as standard but there are plenty of other options, the most powerful being 2 x 575kW Volvo Penta D9s which give a top speed of 45 knots. Also available are the range’s signature hidden outboards, this time four of them, with up to 350hp each.

The D33 and D43 come with a choice of three interior finishes, Standard, Sport and Classy, and all de Antonio yachts come with hundreds of options so whatever yacht you choose you can be sure it will be a perfect fit.
